THE "FLEDERMAUS" OF THE 2020
In the run-up to the ritual New Year's concert, I remember playing Jener's "Bat" on a New Year's Eve with Wiener. Strauss at the Vienna State Opera.
It was very funny: a lot of Walzer, Polke and beautiful dancing and very funny tunes, play with masterful skill from the orchestra, and in the middle of the Opera, which is all set in the 1800, an intervention that made me die laughing: an actor, traditionally, he makes a satirical monologue on the political and social characters of contemporary Austria making people laugh and taking the weaknesses and idiosyncrasies of public figures transported in the middle of a remote era.
At the end of the Opera, a very dear colleague of mine (the wise old concertmaster of cellos of Wiener, human and always positive figure of the Wolfgang Gurtler orchestra) he left on the lecterns of all the musicians of the orchestra, this also for its tradition, a chocolate object as a small gift and a good omen for the start of the new year.
For this new beginning of year leave you on your music stand symbolically me a doll of child-shaped chocolate to wish for you the birth of a beautiful 2020!!
